We are delighted to announce that BUILD is almost full. We’re so happy to be back in community, and we’ve been celebrating with monthly BUILD Community Breakfasts and integrating our JEDI work into BUILD to make the space more inclusive. This looks like expanding our scholarship to offer more free office space to small, BIPOC-led nonprofits, improving out ADA accessibility, and adding a land acknowledgment to the building. Below is a full list of our members and how you can support their mission-driven work.
Asian Girls Ignite builds a strong community of Asian American and Pacific Islander girls and women celebrating their individual and collective power. Programs are based on social-emotional learning and centered around storytelling. It’s through shared stories that we elevate our voices, explore our identities, and care for our wellbeing. B Lab is a global nonprofit network transforming the global economy to benefit all people, communities, and the planet. B Lab is known for certifying B Corporations, which are companies that meet high standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency. They are building the B Corp movement to change our economic system and mobilize the B Corp community towards collective action to address society’s most critical challenges.
Colorado Village Collaborative exists to create and operate transformational housing communities in partnership with people coming from homelessness. With an empowerment-based and anti-oppressive lens, CVC reaches across sectors to address the current housing crisis. Together with their partners, CVC designs and produces housing that is affordable, quick and easy to build, community centric, and environmentally friendly.
Colorado Water Trust is a home-grown, statewide 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Since 2001, they have restored 13.5 billion gallons of water to 588 miles of rivers and streams across the state. They work collaboratively with their partners so that their projects benefit both the people the rivers.
Convivir CO is one of our scholarship members. They have created a 6th-12th grade leadership program for immigrant, refugee, and first generation youth that helps them channel their leadership through the lens of their migrant journey, so they can strengthen their sense of self and continue practicing agency as they make a positive impact on their Colorado communities.
Denver Metro Collective Impact advances equity and generational success by elevating the voices of the systemically oppressed, through the facilitation of organizational collective action, led and constructed by the community. DMCI serves as the facilitator and connector for a growing network of partners to meet the needs of families in Denver. The network is bound together by passionate work on the Social Determinants of Health, recognizing that systemic change will come from efforts in improving life in our homes, schools, workplaces, neighborhood, and communities.
From the Heart Foundation is a scholarship member and community organization whose purpose is to make a difference through mental health and uplift fallen humanity, one man, one woman, and one child at a time.
Juntos2College is a scholarship member who prepares undocumented high school seniors for career success by guiding them through the entrepreneurial process and equipping them with knowledge and financial resources.
Nita Gonzales, Principal of Nuevo Amanecer, LLC, is a noted community member, educator, and nationally recognized leader for educational, environmental, health, and community justice and equality. Her work has always integrated a commitment to building capacity in communities of color to advance health, political, educational, and climate solutions; reforming policy practices; shifting discourses that centralize the voices of those most impacted by injustices and inequities; and strengthening relationships between environmental organizations, organizations of color and others such as (governments, community based organizations (CBOs), etc.). The Greater Denver CARES Movement is an affiliate of the National CARES Mentoring Movement (NCMM), whose mission is to create a highly visible and effective national mentoring campaign targeting the Black community. Greater Denver CARES’s two primary goals are to bring guidance to the lives of our youth by pairing them with organizations that offer mentoring services, and and to provide support to the parents of the youth in our community.
