Radian | Placematters believes the built environment has a significant and direct impact on the effectiveness of healthy communities. In order to address themes of active and healthy living, Radian | Placematters partnered with JeffCo Public Health, CREA Results, USGBC Colorado, and 5 Points GIS to create a Local Active Living Coalition and walkability event. Through amplifying the community’s voices by forming a Local Active Living Coalition, residents of Lakewood and Wheat Ridge can advocate for community projects addressing pedestrian connections, access to public transportation, and healthy learning environments. Radian | Placematters developed the website, www.walkjeffco.org, as a online tool to increase community participation in the planning process.
