RISE Colorado is a nonprofit organization located in Aurora focused on empowering low-income families, families of color, and refugee and immigrant communities towards educational equity in our public school system. 

Radian partnered with RISE Colorado to redesign their community gathering space to align with their mission and core values. Rise was interested in creating a flexible, multi-purpose gathering space that would accommodate the diversity of families they serve.  Because accessibility was one of the primary concerns of RISE and their community members, Radian designed the space to include an ADA lift elevator, updated restrooms, and accessible entryways.

Radian engaged the different family groups and staff through a collaborative and participatory design process. The process included multiple listening sessions with translation and interpretation, site walks, mood board explorations, and design development. The final design celebrates the culture and heritage of the community and is responsive, inclusive, and accessible.
